Preserving a Sensitive Environment
Author(s):  Ed Seay, ASGCA
A Case study of Spring Island, an uncommonly beautiful and nearly untouched sea island of 3,000 acres off the coast of South Carolina. The landscape includes marshes, creeks, ponds, open field and the largest contiguous forest of giant live oak treens remaining in the eastern North America. The goal of the golf course was to fit naturally and sensitively into this pristine environment.
