Robert Trent Jones Endowment FundThe Robert Trent Jones Endowment Fund was created by Mr. Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in 1987 to provide continued funding for research and scholarships to outstanding young people pursuing careers in golf course management. Through Mr. Jones' generous donation and contributions from countless individuals, golf courses, golf organizations and companies, the endowment fund is now at $1.4 million and distributing $60,000 per year for scholarship and research programs. Moore Endowment FundThe purpose of the Aquatrols' Robert A. Moore Endowment Fund is to support applied research for optimizing the growing environment for golf course turf, with specific goals for increasing the effectiveness of applied water, fertilizers and pesticides and thereby reducing the total requirements. The goal is to develop maintenance practices that result in beautiful golf courses with minimal impact on the environment and consumption of resources. The Fund recognizes Robert Moores and Aquatrols contribution and ongoing commitment since 1955 to optimizing the turf growing environment through more effective use of water and other resources. Being the person and company that invented and pioneered the use of soil wetting agents in the turf and ornamental industry worldwide, Robert Moore, his family and Aquatrols have always had a vision that went beyond their product sales to the contributions they could make to more efficient, effective and environmentally sound use of resources in the maintenance of turfgrass and production of ornamental plants. Considering that Moore was in applied research before starting Aquatrols, and with applied research and development being of key importance to Aquatrols, establishment of a research endowment fund seems a fitting way to give back to the industry and recognize the contributions made by Robert Moore and Aquatrols. Donations to the Robert A. Moore Endowment are being accepted by The Institute. Contributions may be tax deductible. Please check with your tax adviser. To donate, simply complete the form and return to The Institute at the address indicated on the form. Williams Leadership EndowmentThe Williams Leadership Endowment recognizes Bob Williams and Bruce R. Williams, CGCS, for their contributions and ongoing commitment to mentoring golf course superintendents to become leaders in the golf course management profession. Bob and Bruce have dedicated their careers to strengthening the profession and instilling leadership qualities in superintendents. Once the Williams Leadership Endowment is fully funded, it will help support the annual GCSAA Chapter Leadership Workshop, which focuses on interpersonal and organizational leadership. The workshop is designed for individuals who are aspiring to become the president of their local chapter. Attendees learn about tools and practices to help them be more effective leaders at their golf facility and at their chapter. Donations to The Williams Leadership Endowment are being accepted by The Institute. Contributions may be tax deductible. Please check with your tax adviser. To donate, simply complete the form and return to The Institute at the address indicated on the form. |
